To commemorate International Youth Day 2026 on 12th August 2026, the Rider Association for Promotion of Tourism and Environment Protection (REAP Sikkim), under the aegis of the Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS), Government of Sikkim, is organizing a state-level awareness programme aimed at empowering youth to become champions of health, inclusion, and social responsibility.
The event seeks to promote awareness on HIV/AIDS, encourage voluntary HIV testing and blood donation, and eliminate stigma and discrimination against People Living with HIV (PLHIV). The programme will bring together youth organizations, motorcycle clubs, educational institutions, civil society organizations, government departments, and the general public through activities such as an HIV/AIDS Awareness Bike Rally, voluntary HIV testing and blood donation camp, awareness exhibitions, and interactive public outreach programmes.
Through this initiative, REAP Sikkim and SSACS reaffirm their commitment to engaging young people as partners in building a healthier, more informed, and inclusive society while promoting the values of responsible citizenship, community service, tourism, and environmental stewardship.
The Poshan Vatika initiative under the Ministry of Ayush is a nutrition-focused program implemented by the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) to establish herbal and nutri-gardens in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) to combat malnutrition and promote dietary diversity. The Ministry of Ayush has Engaged Rider Association for Promotion of Tourism and Environment Protection (REAP, Sikkim) for the Project at EMRS, Parkha, Sikkim. The riders from REAP will ride to ERMS, Parkh in Sept 2026 to implement the project
